Moraíto,
the most important representative of the modern school of Jerez and undoubtedly
one of the best accompanying guitarists for cante, plays and explains
in the first part of this video five selected pieces from his repertoire:
two Bulerías, Sevillanas, Tangos and Vals-Bulerías. The
second part is devoted to Moraíto's speciality: together with singer
Fernando Terremoto Moraíto focusses on basic principles and difficulties
of the accompaniment of cante using Malagueñas, Seguiriyas and
Tientos/Tangos. Fernando Terremoto, son of the legendary cantaor Terremoto,
is gifted with one of the most outstanding flamenco voices of the young
flamenco generation. In this video he gives ample proof that he lives
up to his nickname Terremoto, "Earthquake": his cante is an
expression of unique profundity, overwhelming and subtle at the same time. |
